The Kibera Boxing Club was created in 2015 in Kibera, at the request of local youth. It has become one of the few genuinely safe, structured environments available to young people in the settlement. Around 140 boys and girls aged 9–20 train there regularly.
Despite operating in a cramped and heavily worn facility, with volunteer alumni coaches and limited equipment, Trinity has already produced national champions, and some alumni have gone on to join the Kenya Police, Navy, and Defense Forces. The club is a trusted anchor in the community — but it is at its limit: space is maxed out, equipment is exhausted, and new enrolment has been frozen simply because there is no room left.
A safe, structured training environment in a high-pressure setting
Consistent coaching and discipline that carry into school, work, and family life
Strong participation by girls, with multiple athletes reaching national level
